Interview Well and It Should Be You!
This is a general guide to interview techniques. We strongly recommend that you read this document carefully in advance of your interview.
This is a very general overview of interview techniques. Some of the points mentioned may appear obvious but we urge you to read the complete document. Please remember that a good interview is the difference between getting the job and not, and can at times be more influential in the decision making than technical or sales skills.
PREPARATION
- Get a print out of your research information
- Understand the Job Description and responsibilities
- Acquire details such as salary and location
- Plan your journey in advance be on time or early
- Bring at least one copy of your CV with you
- Bring a note pad and pen
- Bring your diary ready to set up a second interview
- Bring copies of any previous employer references
- Bring your passport or visa details if requested
- Bring completed application forms if requested
- Do not forget your Aqua Briefing Pack
APPEARANCE
- Be punctual, arriving late is unprofessional and is a very bad start to the interview. It gives the impression that you are unorganized, under prepared and not punctual
- Dress code, you should always attend an interview smart
- Be polite to everyone you meet including support staff and reception Be friendly, shake hands with all the interviewers, making sure to introduce yourself clearly
- Keep good eye contact throughout and keep smiling
- Be enthusiastic about the job and the company
- Be confident, good preparation increases confidence
